Selling on board
Dawson Media Direct

The concept of selling reading materials to economy passengers was developed by DMD in response to the remarkable growth in low-cost, no frills services. For the airline, it meets the passenger expectation of being provided with reading materials, while opening up a new revenue stream on even the briefest of shorthaul routes.

As with Inflight services, papers and magazines for sale are delivered direct to the plane, security wrapped and colour-coded for easy reference.

Using our sophisticated Inflight News Systems, it is possible to quickly build profiles for specific flights at particular times of the day, or days of the week, reducing wastage and increasing potential revenues onboard.

New revenue streams for low-cost carriers
DMD has been successfully piloting a scheme with a low cost carrier, offering a national newspaper for onboard sale. The publication is supplied on every aircraft and remains onboard for the entire day, on all aircraft operating in a number of sectors. The scheme has generated significant revenue for the airline concerned and will be expanded further in the near future.

Other low-cost carriers are now looking into the same model and we expect to expand this service over the coming months.
